Lots to do around Lochinver and Assynt
A BREATHTAKING WATERFALL
Walk the well-maintained paths of the Culag Woods. Follow to the quiet cove White Shore and have a picnic. Then continue to the Viewpoint and enjoy a panoramic view of the villiage of Lochinver and Suilven.
“Assynt is a truly world-class fishing destination, with some of the finest native Wild Brown Trout fishing in Europe, if not the world. There are literally hundreds of idyllic, unspoiled hill lochs where you can feel like the first person to ever wet a line as well as a surprising amount of wonderful roadside and easily accessible water to explore. Some of these waters also have migratory Sea Trout and Salmon passing through them”
Scotland’s Assynt disctrict is a breathtaking destination for birders, with an abundance of species. Wild locations are prevalent, particularly in the north west, a gratifying place to visit.
Photograph some of Scotland’s Assynt districts spectacular scenery, from its lochs to its peaks, and its beaches to its castles. And, do not forget the wildlife. While you travel the North Coast 500 (NC 500) enjoy one of the most photogenic places in the world.
Lochinver Larder is situated in the village of Lochinver on the estuary of the river Inver. “All our food is freshly made on the premises from the best Scottish ingredients wherever possible.”

We have a passion for food and especially seafood. We are very fortunate to have such a rich larder on our doorstep and are determined to make the most of it. We work hand-in-hand with our suppliers to provide high quality, fresh, local ingredients.”
