Types of data we collect
Cookies are small files that are typically created when you visit a website and are stored in the cookie directory of your computer. There are two types of cookie; Persistent and Session Specific. Persistent cookies are used to collect non personal data about how the site is being used. Session Specific cookie are used to enable you to navigate around our website and use its functionality without having to constantly re-enter your username and password.
We specifically use Session Specific cookies so once logged in you can easily navigate around the site. We also use Google analytics to track who is using our site.

When someone visits highlandsholiday.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
When you use Cruachan Holiday Home WIFI we may collect data about:

- b) the volume of data which you use;
- c) the websites and applications which you access; and
- d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.
As part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer William Clein.
We will only disclose your data to the extent it is necessary to run our business. We will provide your personal data and information to the owners or operators of the rental accommodation software provider, particularly, BnBSelect.com, LTD (bookalet), when you book via our website using the BnBSelect.com, LTD (bookalet) cloud software service and Stripe, Inc., our credit card and other types of payments processor.
If we buy or sell the business or any business assets we may disclose your personal data in order to effect the transaction.
We will also disclose your personal data where required by law or to enforce our own legal rights.
How we use your data
We use your data to run the Cruachan Holiday Home website; providing holidaymakers with an online bookings system for their accommodation, to provide holidaymakers with a means of renting holiday accommodation and providing information about Cruachan Holiday Home and the surrounding area.
